Saoirse Ronan + Interviews

“from the first moment I met her in London, I knew it was going to be easy. Some people are just easy to work with, and you watch her and you look at her face and think, “What is she doing that’s so special?” And you can’t define it, it’s just there – it’s all there, everything! She is always spot on and perfectly informed. It still amazes me that she was 17 when we shot the film. I worked most closely with her.”

Monster, Sam. You’re a monster. And I tried so hard to pretend that we were brothers. That you weren’t one of the filthy things that we hunt. But we are not even the same species. You’re nothing to me.

“People forget about your humanity when you become famous. I know there will be those who, on reading this, think: ‘Oh, you’re a famous star — deal with it! But I have witnessed, first-hand, how people push, pull and swear at stars — particularly the young ones — just to get any old shot. It’s shameful. You would not want your own daughter treated that way, believe me.”
